Dr. Patrick Fisher is a doctoral researcher, National Certified Counselor, and the founder of TheraPetic® Healthcare Provider Group — a network of 11 accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that has served over 50,000 individuals across the United States and Canada since 2016.

Before founding TheraPetic®, Dr. Fisher spent over 15 years in clinical mental health services, including serving as Director of Counseling Services across 95 schools. During that time he witnessed firsthand the gap between the clinical need for support animal documentation and the exploitative, unaccredited industry that had grown up to fill it.

His doctoral research at Walden University (2021) formally validated what his clinical work had shown for years: the human-animal bond carries measurable, clinical therapeutic benefit. His research identified six core therapeutic themes in the lived experiences of adults using support animals for anxiety — research that forms the academic foundation of TheraPetic®'s clinical evaluation methodology to this day.
